Survivor... Outwit, Outplay, Outlast, Outcoach

Plain and simple. The playoffs is the time to outlast, outwit and outplay your opponent. Otherwise your torch will be extinguished.

Hopefully Jeff Probst is attending the game tomorrow so that he can once and for all exstinguish the torch we know as Tiki.

Wouldn't it be great to end Tiki's truncated career with a devastating win tomorrow? It is not that I don't like Tiki, it's just that I don't like Tiki. He's a Giant. Do we like any Giants? Eli is a likable guy and I don't like him. I sometimes like Yankees (never Mets, except for local guy Joe McEwing), I have no problem with the Jets, but I really hate the Giants. (food for thought for another blog... would we like Jeremy Shockey if he wore Eagles green?)

I'm confident with the Birds' chances tomorrow. The Giants have lost 6 of their last 8 and their two wins came against the Panthers and the Redskins, and they would have lost to the 'Skins had it not been for Tiki. So is the key tomorrow to stop Tiki? Will we see William James , our tallest DB, manning up against Plexiglass tomorrow? Who knows? What I do know is that I have faith in this coaching staff to win this game.

Consider some of the trends:

  • The Eagles, under Reid's regime, have never lost a first round playoff game.
  • In the 36 years since Wild Card entries were added to the playoffs, only two 8-8 teams have managed to win in the playoffs.
  • The G-Men have lost their last 3 playoff games, including being shutout at home last year by Carolina 23-0.
  • The Eagles are 8-4 in their last 12 games vs. the Giants
  • We're also 4-2 in our last 6 games at home vs. the Giants
  • Eagles are 6-4 at home in the playoffs under this regime (3 losses in the NFC Championship)

Outwit, Outplay, Outlast, Outcoach.

Undoubtedly, Andy Reid is a better coach then Tom Coughlin. Reid took a 5-6 team who just lost their MVP caliber quarterback, and ran off 5 straight wins.

Coughlin, on the other hand has had to overcome several injuries and has backed into the playoffs with 2 wins in his last 8 contests. Coughlin's job is on the line today, and he too might be extinguished.

Tom, Tiki. The tribe has spoken.

"Time's yours."

PS: I had some fun with Photoshop this morning, the picture is my creation.
