"The Time is Now"

"We've been through the NFC championships. We've been in the playoffs. Now it's time to seal the deal."

- Donovan McNabb

Bold predictions by our fearless leader. He said something similar last year and he took a lot of slack for it. And frankly, the time is now. This team is not getting any younger, and the nucleus we had several years ago is still here and will be for several more... The time is now. If the Andy Reid/Donovan McNabb era are to be remembered we have to win the big one.

I've always respected McNabb for saying the write thing. He's a cliche machine at times, but it is usually the right thing... this, although very cliche, is also very bold and might be the kick in the pants this team needs to win it all.

I'm not worried about McNabb staying healthy, or what's going to happen with the musical receivers we have every year...I'm mostly concerned with our run stopping defense. This team was 8 minutes away from beating the Saints with the chance of out-matching the JV quarterback playing in Chicago and fulfilling the super bowl predictions from #5 last year. We've improved that aspect of our defense in a revamped linebacking core and a couple of additions to the d-line.

The time is now. And to quote another Philadelphia athlete making a bold pre-season prediction... "We are the team to beat!"
